Old Colony senior Jessica Williams recently won the Old Rochester Community Television Logo Contest. A Carver resident, Jessica’s logo design was selected the best from 118 submissions. Members of Old Colony’s senior Applied Economics Class recently visited Precix, Inc., in New Bedford, MA. In addition to a tour of the facility, the students shadowed a mentor during part of the morning. The cost of the program was paid by Junior Achievement of Southeastern MA. The Computer Information Technology (CIT) Department at Old Colony recently held its second annual Senior Project presentations. Ten seniors presented their technology projects to their shop peers and the competition judges. Old Colony was represented at the Massachusetts Celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day on February 3, 2006, by Kerrie Rousseau (Acushnet) and Hannah Savaria (Rochester), The event took place at Faneuil Hall in Boston, MA.  

Old Colony Superintendent-Director, David J. Ferreira, recently recognized eleven students for their assistance with the career awareness activities. The students, along with Guidance Counselor Robert Sherman, were participants in the eighth grade presentations at our sending schools. Brandon Duarte, an Old Colony senior and member of the Old Colony Chapter of the National Honor Society has been nominated to compete in the National Honor Society scholarship sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
