Outstanding Voc-Tech” student named

The staff at Old Colony RVTHS has selected Andre Arsenault, a Culinary Arts senior from Acushnet, to be the recipient if the “Outstanding Vocational Technical Student” award for 2006.

The statewide award program recognizes outstanding vocational technical education students from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The award acknowledges the excellence Andre has achieved in his academics studies, as well as his technical competence in the Culinary Arts Program. Andre is very active in extracurricular activities at Old Colony. He is a three-year member of the National Honor Society and currently serves as vice-president.

Andre is highly regarded by peers and faculty members and is a present officer for SkillsUSA. He has won numerous awards in SkillsUSA competition. He also is a member of the Old Colony Math Team. Earlier this school year, Andre was a recipient of an award in the Prudential Spirit of Community Recognition Program. He is also an Eagle Scout.

Andre will further his education upon graduation in June when he will enroll at Johnson & Wales University.
