Old Colony’s Cosmetology senior class of 2010 has successfully completed their hours and obtained their Massachusetts State Board of Cosmetology Operator’s License. The taking and passing of the State Board has been a requirement for the Cosmetology Department since 2000. Anne Spirlet, Old Colony’s Guidance Counselor, has been appointed as the Non-Traditional Advisor for the 2010 – 2011 school year. Ms. Spirlet will be working with the staff and students to promote and achieve non-traditional opportunities to the faculty and community. Old Colony’s Non-Traditional Program also works closely with the South East Equity Leaders (SEEL).

Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School has announced its early dismissal dates for the 2010-2011 school year. Lacey Cabral was named the Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School District volunteer of the year in the 2011 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program. Old Colony was represented at the Massachusetts Celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Feburary 5, 2010, by Acushnet residents Jocelin Westage and Lauren Golda.
