SkillsUSA State Competition Tickets

From April 28-30 a group of Old Colony Students will be competing at the SkillsUSA Massachusetts State Competition. If you are interested in attending the awards ceremony on Saturday April 30, there will be a limited number of tickets available online. The tickets go on sale April 15 at 8:00am and cost $5 each (limit 4 per transaction).

If you are unable to get tickets, no worries…the entire event will be streaming online! Both the opening ceremonies (Thursday, 04/28) and the awards ceremony (Saturday, 04/30) will be streaming online at the Massachusetts SkillsUSA site.

2015 SkillsUSA Leadership Conference

Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School students along with Mr. Robidoux, Mrs. Boisvert, and Mrs. Pepin participated in the annual SkillsUSA Fall State Leadership Conference on November 22-24, 2015. This annual event was held at the Best Western Hotel & conference center in Marlborough Massachusetts.

Old Colony Students Headed to National Competition

After placing Gold in Web Design at the 2015 SkillsUSA State Competition, CIS Seniors Mack Chabot and Chad Underhill will be heading to Louisville, Kentucky to represent Old Colony at the 2015 SkillsUSA National Championships. The team had just 5 hours to build a website from scratch, being given just the name of a nonprofit company, Catie’s Closet, text, and images to populate the site. Mack and Chad will be accompanied by shop teacher Ryan Robidoux and SkillsUSA advisor Kevin Gonsalves for the duration of the competition from June 22 to the 26th.

Old Colony Students Place in SkillsUSA State Pin Design Contest

Two students from Old Colony’s Graphics Communication and Design department have been announced as winners of the 2015 SkillsUSA State Trading Pin Design Contest. Junior Alyson Mello and senior Morgan Garcia took second and third place respectively, having beaten out competition from other vocational schools across the state. The winning designs will be on display at the District 1 SkillsUSA Championships on February 27th.
