Fourteen Old Colony students recently participated in leadership training at UMASS Dartmouth. The students, representing a number of school organizations, participated in the Leadership Institute on October 25, 2006. Recently the Old Colony Peer Leaders held an Activity Fair for freshmen. The purpose of the fair was to give freshmen students an overview of all of the extracurricular activities available to them. It also gave them the opportunity to ask questions about each organization. Old Colony’s Peer Leadership Advisor, Jeanne DiOrio, coordinated the event.

Computer Information Technology (CIT) students at Old Colony are involved in a unique learning opportunity. The students are enrolled as “distance learning students” at Bristol Community College. In effect, they are earning college credits and participating in college online courses, while at school. Courses in Information Technology (IT) Fluency 1 and 2 are being offered.
