All Old Colony staff and students participated in a full ALICE practice drill today (either lockdown/shelter-in-place/barricade or evacuated and reunified outside the building). This drill was led in partnership with the Rochester Police Department and two certified trainers employed at Old Colony RVTHS. The ALICE training offers school districts options that mitigate liability, assume less risk, and, most importantly, equip the staff and students with life-saving skills.
Old Colony is transitioning to a new student information system called SchoolBrains. We are in the process of preparing a data validation for parents to review that data for their child and sign off. Once we have all of the data confirmed we will send out directions to parents and students on how to access SchoolBrains. We hope to do this in early October. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition.
The academic departments have created the attached document so students and their families can be prepared with their back to school supplies. Vocational tools, equipment, and uniform requirements will be shared with students when they return to shop.
