Recently, Electrical Department students completed repair work and electrical improvements at the Acushnet Valley Golf Course’s maintenance facility. In Rochester, House & Mill Carpentry Department students built baseball dugouts at the Dexter Lane Field.

The Old Colony Health Careers Department has established clinical affiliations with Headstart of New Bedford, Southcoast Hospital Groups, Sassaquin Dental Associates of New Bedford, New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home, Inc., and CVS Pharmacy Tech Program for the 2007-2008 school year.

Students in the Computer Information Technology Department participated in a workshop on digital photography recently. Bill Chenaille, from the Center of Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University, presented the informative workshop in Old Colony’s Computer Information Technology shop.

The conference was held for advisors and members at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. The Scholarship Committee at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School has selected senior Janelle Gifford (Acushnet) as the 2007 recipient of the Bristol Stars AAU Scholarship. Janelle received her scholarship at the May 31st Annual Awards Ceremony at Old Colony. Janelle will attend Seminole Community College in Florida in September.
