The Sixth Annual Old Colony Golf Tournament was a huge success, raising almost $30,000 for the Old Colony Student Scholarships and Services Fund. The golf tournament, evening dinner, auction, and raffle events generated this impressive amount thanks to the generosity of the Old Colony community.
This year’s golf tourney was held at the Acushnet River Valley Golf Course in Acushnet, MA, on Saturday, May 15, 2010. The event was held in honor of a local hero, Tyler J. Trahan, a resident of Freetown who graduated from Old Colony RVTHS in 2004, Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 2006, and then enlisted in the US Navy. Tyler was tragically killed on April 30, 2009, fighting for his country in Iraq.
Old Colony wants to thank John Abaray and the Golf Committee for all of their dedication and hard work. The school also thanks all of the families, friends, alumni, faculty, staff, and guests for their generous support, and for making the day a fun, memorable, and profitable one. Old Colony also wants to recognize TRANE for their generous donation of $10,000. All of the proceeds from the golf tournament will directly benefit the students of Old Colony. Thanks to everyone for making this important fundraiser the best one ever!
