2007 SkillsUSA District Competition

On March 13, 2007, 75 student-members of Old Colony’s Chapter of Skills-USA participated in the district competition held at Upper Cape Regional Vocational Technical High School in Bourne, MA. Old Colony pitted its skills and knowledge in 18 trade areas against other area vocational schools. The Cougars’ efforts were well rewarded, as Old Colony competitors took home 4 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals. Congratulations to all competing students!

GOLD MEDALS:

SILVER MEDALS:

Justin Nelson (Mattapoisset) – Electronis Applications
Zachary Card (Carver) – Computer Programming
Robert Cost (Carver) – Culinary Arts
Eli Rezenervitz (Freetown) – Web Design
Alexander Tironati (Lakeville) – Web Design

BRONZE MEDALS:

Devan Spellman (Acushnet) – Precision Maching Technology
James Cornwall (Carver) – Electronis Applications
Jade Worthington (Acushnet) – Office Computer Applications
Melissa Jones (Freetown) – Cosmetology (Over 500 hrs)
All the award winners are now eligble to compete for the state championships to be held in Marlboro, MA, on April 26-28, 2007.
