Twenty-eight students from Old Colony’s Computer Information Technology Department visited Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I., on May 23, 2005. The sophomore and junior students were accompanied by instructors Jacqueline Machamer and John C. Souza.
Upon arriving at the university, the CIT students gathered in the lecture hall and listened to admissions personnel discuss the benefits of attending Johnson & Wales. Topics included degree programs, course offerings, career and employment opportunities, trimester scheduling, and financial assistance. Many of the students plan to attend the 3-day Johnson & Wales summer program called “Career Exploration 2005.”
The CIT students enjoyed a guided tour of the city campus through the Providence streets to the Technology Center. They visited a number of labs and classrooms, and viewed the computers and technological equipment in the Technology Center. The students enjoyed pizza and soda before departing for the return trip to Old Colony.
