NHS students bring books to local schools

Members of the Old Colony Chapter of the National Honor Society recently visited the Acushnet Elementary School and the Rochester Memorial School as part of their annual Fall Book Drive Service Project. Members of the National Honor Society had solicited donations of children’s books in good condition and had collected approximately 300 of them.

NHS members visited classrooms in both schools where they read some of the books they had brought with them. After the reading, NHS members assisted the children in making crafts for Halloween and Thanksgiving that they had brought with them.

The boxes of books that had been collected were also distributed and donated to the classrooms and school library for the students to enjoy.
