Old Colony Regional Vocational High School was one of the twelve vocational- technical schools in the Commonwealth that participated in a validation study of the SkillsUSA Professional Development Program. The results of this study, which focused on employer input, are important because workplace success for career and technical education students is the best measure of progress in meeting the requirements of the Certificates of Occupational Proficiency.
The ultimate goal was to validate the effectiveness of the Professional Development Program. However, the data also revealed a close correlation between program participation and success in SkillsUSA.
The positive results contained in this report offer the Career and Technical Education community solid curriculum designed to meet the requirement of the Certificates of Occupational Proficiency as outlined in the Vocational Technical Education Frameworks, in particular, Strands 4 & 5.
