Senior Projects showcased in CIT

The Computer Information Technology (CIT) Department at Old Colony recently held its second annual Senior Project presentations. Ten seniors presented their technology projects to their shop peers and the competition judges.

The Senior Project is a CIT requirement that challenges students to showcase their technical and communication skills. Students selected a technological topic and planned, researched, and developed a finished “product,” wrote a thorough research paper, and showcased their completed projects with presentational software. In addition to learning a new technology, the seniors improved their written and verbal communication skills and learned “real world” lessons, such as time management and project management skills.

The 2006 Senior Project award winners were:

1st Place: Thomas Ouellettte (Freetown) – Swift 3D Project
2nd Place: Stephen Bernat (Acushnet) – Maya Animation Project
3rd Place: Brandon Duarte (Acushnet) – Digital Video Project
