Old Colony’s sophomore, junior, and senior Computer Information Technology students attended a field trip to UMass Boston, on December 7, 2007, accompanied by four CIT faculty members. Students attended an IT Careers Day, sponsored by the Boston Area Technical Education Consortium (BATEC).
Students learned about the careers that exist in Information Technology today from industry experts in the field. Technologies such as Computer Forensics, Nanotechnology, Robotics, Gaming, Home Entertainment, RFID, and others were showcased. Experts also shared information on today’s market demand for employees with technology and computing skills, and about the specific business expertise and technology skills that new employees of tomorrow will need to make them competitive, resourceful, and successful in the industry.
