PSAT/SAT Information

PSAT/SAT Information

The Preliminary SAT (PSAT) is a test designed to help students practice for the SAT and is also used to determine eligibility for scholarships awarded by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Students, in 10th and 11th grade, are eligible to take the PSAT/NMSQT to measure readiness for college. Please note that PSAT’s and SAT’s are not required for students who are interested in starting their education at a community college.

Additional PSAT information can be viewed on the College Board website, which is collegeboard.org

The PSAT’s will be administered during the school day on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021. During the 2021-2022 school year, all Sophomores will take part and any interested Junior will have the opportunity to test. There will be no PSAT fees for any student  For more information, call the Guidance Department at 508-763-8011 ext. 126.

SAT TESTING INFORMATION

A growing number of schools are waiving standardized testing requirements, or are being flexible with early action SAT deadlines, for this year’s seniors. Check college websites regularly to get the most up-to-date and accurate information.

For those who would like to take the SAT, be aware that the College Board plans to let test cancelations occur by location.   For the latest site closures, click here.

Many sites have limited capacity, so if you are planning to take an SAT this year, we recommend registering ASAP.

Register at: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/register

Students who receive free/reduced lunch are eligible to take the SAT for free and should see their guidance counselor before registering for the test to get an SAT Fee Waiver.
