Mrs. Ward, the school nurse, would like to warn everyone about measles: U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan recently sent a letter to superintendents with links to the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention and suggested ways to disseminate the information and to implement best practices in districts with help from local public health authorities. The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Safe and Healthy Students manages the Readiness and Emergency Management of Schools Technical Assistance Center, which can help schools address infectious disease.
