Students attend UMass leadership program

Three Old Colony students and Peer Leadership Advisor, Jeanne DiOrio, recently participated in the International Student Leadership Institute held as UMASS Dartmouth.

The philosophy of this program includes five essential objectives – support, awareness, self-confidence, positive thinking, and values. The process of teaching the philosophy is through five connecting reinforcers, including group process, communication, motivation, change, and leadership.

The area students who participated were Nicholas Alves, Naomi Sylvia, and Jakob Thuestad (all from Mattapoisett). The students felt that it was a productive day and they acquired many useful skills to assist them in the future.
