Staff members receive extensive training

– (5/1/06)

Old Colony staff members recently received extensive training in co-teaching pedagogy.

Dr. Elizabeth Fleming, Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean of Special Education at Simmons College, presented three two-hour workshops to the academic, special education, and new vocational staff. The topics included: Teaching Strategies, Successful Co-Teaching Techniques, and Understanding the Role of the Paraprofessional at the Secondary Level.

These workshops were the result of the PIMS evaluation process and Department of Education mandated trainings. The FY’06 Title I Grant funded these professional development workshops.
