Health Career students visit Boston hospital

Old Colony senior, junior, and sophomore Health Career students participated in the Student Career Opportunity Outreach Program (S.C.O.O.P.) at Children’s Hospital in Boston on April 14, 2005.

SCOOP is one of the nursing initiatives to address the nursing shortage crisis and to inspire our youth to consider nursing as a career choice. The students listened to several nurses who explained the training and education necessary to be a nurse, as well as what’s special about pediatric nursing. They also toured the hospital and visited several specialty areas, such as neonatal intensive care, bone transplant, trauma and cardiac units.
