Congratulations to the Old Colony girls basketball team on a very successful season. The Lady Cougars were co-champions of the Mayflower League (Division 3) and reached the state tournament before bowing out to finish the season with 16 wins and 7 losses. Kay Ryan (Carver) and Jessica St. Pierre (Acushnet) played their final game for Old Colony. A special thank you to Coach Bill Hebert, who coached his final game at Old Colony and ended a 28-year coaching career. Old Colony junior Katie Drouin (Acushnet) also reached a milestone this season by scoring the 1,000th point of her high school athletic career. Katie was named to the New Bedford Standard-Times “Super Team.”
